We applied for our green card processing in 2001 and later we had a problem with our AC 21. Then, USCIS did not issue my green card. USCIS had lots of queries regarding my case, and my previous attorney was unable to respond. Finally, I came to Ms. Thawer in February 2010. It has been a miracle; Ms. Thawer took my case and got my green card within 4 months. Now, the remaining issue is about my daughter’s eligibility under the CSPA. I went to so many lawyers, but everybody told me that they could not file a law suit again National Visa Center and the Embassy. However, Ms. Thawer took the case and immediately filed a law suit against embassy. Within 45 days the Judge agreed with Ms. Thawer and approved my daughter’s eligibility under the CSPA.

I have not been able to travel back home to Pakistan for the last 18 years. I filed a I-485 based on Life Act in 2001, but my former attorney sent the wrong documents. When the time for my appeal came , he sent the appeal to the wrong place. I came to USA with a student visa and I fell in love with a fellow student and we got married. I initially had a different attorney handle my L1 case and once I received my visa and came to the US, I was advised to transfer to a H1B visa.  I decided to get a second opinion and booked an appointment at  Sherin’s office for a consultation. “The interview last week went quite well. Of course all the supporting documentation I collected (a full 9 x 12″ envelope!) and brought along wasn’t even looked at. The worst part was the waiting. I was there by 8:30am and left at 12:10pm. The grin on my face obviously gave me away as I headed towards the elevator down. Two others also in the waiting area congratulated me — without me having to say a word that I was approved! The visa itself is quite colourful. USCIS must also like to test people’s willpower as there is a sealed brown envelope I must take with me to the border along with the visa. If you have another client that goes to the Montréal consulate office, I would recommend the Hôtel Le Dauphin on Rue de Bleury. It was maybe a ten minute walk from the consulate office and reasonably priced compared to the other hotels in the area. We’ll likely be seeing you again around early to mid-March to change over my status and start the EAD process. Now the challenge of finishing packing up and moving!”
